Generally, prototypes for luggage and bags are produced between 3-15 days while final products are manufactured in 3-7 days. There are many factors affect prototype production time, including: design complexity, amount of materials in stock, custom elements, and provided sketch details. Our company sample making policy: An initial prototyping cost (dependent upon design complexity) will be charged but refunded when final product orders are placed. However, customers have to pay for sample shipping freight.
To produce the prototype, we use black and in stock materials to create a bag similar to the sketch to test its functionality, then improvements and custom elements are added, thus reducing prototyping time. One recent customer, a carbon fiber field hockey sticks manufacturer based in the UK, contacted us, requesting a bag that could be shoulder or hand carried capable of holding two field hockey sticks. We immediately informed the customer that we are a professional bags manufacturer and can produce a prototype to test the bag’s functionality if provided drawings and dimensions or a sample model and other desired specifications. We then quickly provided the customer estimated costs for the final product to help the customer decide whether to proceed with prototyping. The customer responded stating they could provide sketches and sizes, but needed a sample created to test the design’s functionality. Upon receiving the necessary specifications, we informed the customer that the first prototype will be all black to decrease prototype production time while adding logos and improvisations will be implemented on future prototypes and the final product. After securing the customer’s approval, we created the prototype in three days. The customer, impressed by our fast prototyping speed and pleased with our design for compartmentalizing and padding the two field hockey sticks, requested we ship the prototype to them for functionality testing. We pride ourselves in our fast prototype production that allows customers all over the world feel as if we are right next door.
